Celebrating Méthode Cap Classique is a 28cmx28cm lavish coffee table book about South African bottle fermented sparkling wine. The book was launched on the 7th September 2011 at Simonsig Wine Estate, where 40 years ago, the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle fermented bubbly in what was known as the Méthode Champenoise. Celebrating Méthode Cap Classique includes both the French and South African history, the methods of production, the many South African producers, the art and etiquette and the elegant pairing of various foods and Cap Classiques, as well as cheese, chocolate and cocktails. Recipes, poetry and beautiful photography by Riehan Bakkes boldly illustrate the book. It is filled with interesting tidbits of information - with even a quiz to test your knowledge on the subject.
This is a worthy gift for any celebratory occasion, for anyone who loves bubbly.
